Paul Seaman, Licensed Architect, Maine and Massachusetts

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

A native of New England with six years of higher education in design, Paul understands and appreciates the character and qualities of our local vernacular. He maintains a broad knowledge of building systems from his background as a Licensed Architect, and is well versed in management having worked with several well respected firms prior to forming his own business. Paul brings enthusiasm and thoughtful insight to the process of design.

Able to recognize the qualities and attributes of a building both physically and aesthetically at the onset, Paul sponsors a dialogue that informs the process and provides a setting for well-informed decision-making. Building a personal rapport and maintaining a professional relationship, Paul's work demonstrates a commitment to excellence.

Parallel interests and activities include general contracting and hands-on construction work to renovate his own (former) residence, an 1820's Cape on the Coast of Maine, and, more recently, an 1880s Greek Revival in the Historic District of Ipswich, MA. Other interests include landscape maintenance and improvements, sailing, boating, and pulling lobster traps in the waters of Ipswich Bay.

Collaborating with Clients

Creating Design Solutions

The Seaman Design Group, LLC is well versed in building systems in addition to maintaining a  rigorous discipline in design. The process begins with an exchange of information with each client, thus prompting an investigation of ideas.  Through creative exploration, possible design solutions are developed, described first with concepts presented in hand drawn simplicity.  Through conversation, ideas are challenged, evaluated and a clear design solution emerges.  The design direction is then further defined, more clearly articulated and then is fully described in the form of scale models and design drawings.  The process is kinetic and exciting.
