F I R E B O X

The backyard fire is a ceremony that is well deserving of a beautiful box. Laser-cut and hand crafted in 1/8” and 1/4” no. 304 stainless steel, the Firebox is built to endure for generations.

As the fire burns, the backdrop serves to shield prevailing winds, focus heat towards the front and deflect smoke from traveling. As the fire dwindles down to glowing embers, simply shift the back to the top of the base and rest soundly that sparks are contained within.

The Firebox is a sculptural centerpiece of your outdoor setting in every season. Featured at “Fire and Ice”, “Castle Hill by Firelight” and “Fire Pit Adventures” hosted by The Trustees of Reservations at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate, Ipswich, MA. Please refer to the Care, Maintenance and Safety Guidelines listed below.  Site on a fully noncombustible surface.

F I R E B O X :   Care, Maintenance and Safety Guidelines

For proper care, safety and performance, use only as instructed.

Outdoor use only. Check with your local codes office and your local Fire Marshall for permit requirements, use regulations and safety guidelines.

Place FIREBOX onto a level, fully non-combustible surface on or near grade, with adequate clearance from box edge on all four sides. Do not locate under a roof, overhang or tree limb.

DO NOT USE ON WOOD OR COMPOSITE DECKS.

The FIREBOX must be fully and continuously attended when there is an open flame or burning embers.

Close lid only when flame and burning embers are low or out. Use heat-resistant pad or oven mitt to grasp handle at top of lid.

It is recommended to keep a fire extinguisher, garden hose, or water bucket nearby to extinguish the fire if necessary.

Do not burn wet or unseasoned wood. Only use dry seasoned firewood, 16” lengths. Do not use an accelerant to light a fire.

The FIREBOX is specifically designed for recreational fires and is not to be used as an incinerator. Do not burn trash, rubbish, painted or stained wood, pressure treated wood, construction debris, leaves, hazardous waste or chemicals.

The FIREBOX will naturally become stained and discolored upon use. Excessive char and soot may be cleaned with a foam type oven cleaner. Do not use an abrasive cleaning pad, SOS pad or steel wool as this will scratch the finish.

Well after the fire is extinguished and ashes are entirely out, clear ashes from base of the FIREBOX prior to each use, to ensure that ashes from the previous fire are completely cold and can be disposed of safely.  An empty ash bin in the base unit will facilitate proper airflow through the vent holes to feed the fire as it burns.

Your purchase of the Firebox represents your commitment to the proper care, maintenance and compliance with the safety guidelines outlined above.  Thank you for your purchase.

Purchase Return Policy:

The Firebox is made from laser cut No. 304 stainless steel, benchtop fabricated in limited quantities with the utmost attention to craftsmanship and detail.

Your purchase of the FIREBOX is a FINAL SALE however, in the event there there happens to be an issue with the construction or the function of your Firebox, please reach out within 30 days from the date of your purchase in order for that issue to be resolved.

It is important to understand that No. 304 stainless steel resists rust, but will not remain rust free.  During non-use (between fires), secure the Firebox lid to protect the remaining ashes from collecting water.  Empty the ashes from the base unit when fully cold prior to each fire, to ensure proper air circulation as it burns.

Smoke and soot are natural byproducts of any wood burning fire and should be expected to accumulate following regular use. This will not affect the function but will contribute a patina to the overall character while maintaining the sculptural presence as a centerpiece of your outdoor setting.
